Tamarix general information

Range of shrubs and small trees that can be deciduous or evergreen. Often planted near the sea as can resist winds. They are grown for graceful slender branches and plume like foliage. Flowering occurs in slender raceme towards the end of branches.

Soil Type: Almost any soil except shallow chalk soils.
Position: Frost hardy. Likes sun and thrives inland as well as near sea as can resist winds.
Maintenance: Prune back immediately after flowering to prevent straggly growth
