Phygelius general information

Evergreen and semi-evergreen shrubs grown for their showy tubular flowers from mid-summer onwards. Ideal against a sunny wall or in a sunny border.

Soil Type: Most fertiles soils as long as not too dry.
Position: Frost hardy but like to be sheltered from cold winds.
Maintenance: Cut back to 7cm (3in) above ground level for younger growth. If woody growth then cut back ensuring there is 5cm (2in) of young live wood.

AGM = The Royal Horticultural Society's Award of General Merit given to plants of outstanding excellence.
