Evergreen shrubs. They are one of the best flowering evergreens with a display from summer to early autumn. Some varieties are aromatic when leaves are bruised. Leaves and flowers are small. Most species tolerate lime. Make excellent hedging and can be grown near the sea.
Soil Type: They thrive in all types of soil that is free-draining. Drought resistant and lime tolerant. Do not like to be waterlogged. Position: Frost hardy. For good growth and flowering likes the sun. Maintenance: Trim as necessary. Prune after flowering, cutting back old flowering growths. Can be pruned hard.
