Elaeagnus general information

Genus of deciduous or evergreen shrubs and trees. Grown for their foliage often with small fragrant flowers. Evergreen species are ideal for hedging and can provide very good windbreaks.

Soil Type: Most fertile well-drained soils. Do not grow on shallow chalk soils. Do not like to be waterlogged.
Position: Frost hardy. Most evergreen species will thrive in sun or shade. Those with silver leaves and deciduous species prefer the sun
