Abelia general information

Range of deciduous, semi-evergreen or evergreen plant. Beautiful foliage and long lasting abundant flowers.

Soil Type: Most soil ypes including clay and dry soils. Does not like to be waterlogged.
Position: Frost hardy. Requires sun to partial shade. In cold situations will thrive best near a south or south-west facing wall.
Maintenance: Tidy up in the autumn but any major cutting back should be done in the late winter removing out the older branches.

AGM = The Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit given to plants of outstanding excellence.

Semi-evergreen shrub with dark glossy leaves growing 1-1.8m (3-6ft) height & spread. Attractive arching branches which become covered with slightly fragrant, white flowers with a tinge of pink from July to October. The leaves turn bronze-green to bronze-red in winter.

Medium semi-evergreen shrub with golden yellow young leaves which turn green as they mature. Height and spread 1-1.8m (3-6ft). Flowers are pink with a slight fragrance. Flower for a long period from mid-summer until frosts.
